SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and Chairman JKLF (H), Javaid Ahmad Mir, on Monday accused People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of trying to befool Kashmiris by linking the development of the state with Kashmir issue.
“PDP is trying to befool the people of Kashmir by making a failed attempt to link Bijli, Sadaq and Pani with Kashmir issue,” Mir said in a statement issued here.
“PDP is exploiting the Kashmir issue and sacrifices of its people only to gain power. Kashmiris have been giving enormous sacrifices for the cause of freedom. Now, the need of the hour is that Indian leadership shuns its policy of repression and suppression in Kashmir and takes meaningful steps for the resolution of Kashmir issue,” he said.
Reiterating it was due to unresolved Kashmir issue that India and Pakistan continue to have hostile relationship, Mir said, “Not only the life and economic prosperity of the people of subcontinent but the entire South Asia was at stake due to such hostility.”
