Pampore shuts to mourn killing of militants

Pampore: Shutdown continued in south Kashmir’s Pampore and adjoining areas for the third consecutive day Tuesday over the killing of three militants in an 48-hours gunfight with government forces on Monday evening.
The areas which observed the shutdown include Pampore, Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora, Panthachowk, Sempora, Kakapora, Samboora and other adjoining areas of Pampore. All the Shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was off the roads.
Scores of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the town.
Meanwhile, announcements are being made on public address systems of Masjids appealing people to participate in Gaibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza for the slain at Khankah -e-Faiz Tral.
