Srinagar: Riding on a superb 72 and terrific bowling from fast bowling duo of Gowhar Mirza and Suhail Ahmad, Diamond Cricket Club thumped Loragam Cricket Club to make it to the finals of Loragam Cricket Premier League played at Lorgaam Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
It was a lopsided game with DCC dominating the game after their skipper Waheed Mirza decided to bat first. DCC were in spot of a bother losing four wickets cheaply, but seasoned campaigner Riyaz Bhat showed his all class and experience to hit magnificent 72. His match winning was laced with seven sixes and three fours as DCC posted a solid 120 in their batting effort. Suhail made 15. For the bowling side, Arif Bhat took three wickets.
In reply, LCC never looked chasing the target as Gowhar and Suhail wrecked the havoc with their pace bowling, taking three and four wickets respectively. LCC were shot out for a mere 70 giving a 50-run victory to DCC.
The summit clash will be played between DCC and Noorpora XI today.
12 teams participated in the tourney.
