Kulgam: Additional district development commissioner, Kulgam, on Saturday reviewed the progress on the implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the district.
ACR, AD CAPD and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
While urging people not to pay heed to the rumors, the ADC said that under the Act, ration on subsidised rates will be provided to 4.22 lakh souls under categories like Priority Households and Non Priority Households, as per the census of 2011 instead to 3.85 lakh souls that were provided before the implementation of NFSA.
“30,000 additional households will be issued ration cards in the district. And under the Priority Households, 2, 56, 811 souls will be provided ration on subsidised rates as against 1, 52, 545 souls,” he said.
