Student beaten, pushed down from building at Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A class 12 student suffered a severe fracture in his right foot after the paramilitary CRPF men allegedly chased and pushed him down from the first floor of a coaching centre building here.
Witnesses said a group of youth hurled stones at the CRPF men deployed in the KP Road area and fled towards the street in which the coaching centre was located.
Enraged forces, witnesses said, barged into the building, and pushed down the student, identified as Uzair Farooq of Anchidora, Anantnag, after he was beaten up.
He was immediately removed to District Hospital Anantnag where his severely-fractured foot was operated upon by the doctors.
“The student was brought here with a severe fracture in his right foot. He was immediately operated upon and is under observation. His condition is stable,” medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Mirab, told Kashmir Reader.
Police, however, denied that the student was pushed down from the building.
“This is not true that the boy was pushed down from the building. Actually, stone pelting happened in the area, after which the CRPF men cane charged the stone throwers, resulting in injuries to the boy,” SHO Anantnag, Adil Ahmad, told Kashmir Reader.
