Kashmir’s new generation deliberately targetted, says Mirwaiz

SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Monday said government was “deliberately targetting Kashmiris’ third generation for which the killing of two young innocent students in Pulwama is a proof”.
He said whether the government is led by NC, PDP or Governor, “carrying atrocities against Kashmiris has remained everyone’s policy.”
“Pulwama killings are a proof that government was executing a well-planned conspiracy to annihilate and wipe out the entire generation of Kashmiri youth,” Mirwaiz said in a statement issued here.
He said by using “excessive force and unleashing military might on innocent civilians”, the genuine voice of the people of Kashmir cannot be crushed. “The oppressive and repressive tactics won’t help drag the long-standing Kashmir issue under the carpet.”
“By carrying inhuman atrocities in Kashmir every other day which leads to killings of innocent civilians, the situation in Kashmir is getting from bad to worse. The unresolved Kashmir issue is leading to everyday bloodshed of Kashmiris,” he said.
Mirwaiz also paid tributes to Danish Farooq and Shaista Hamid, who were killed by Indian forces on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of amalgam condemned the house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and use of “excessive force and atrocities on unarmed protestors and common masses” of Pulwama.
The spokesman also paid tributes to prominent resistance leader, Ghulam Ahmad Bulla and other martyrs of Haigam on their anniversaries.
“A party delegation comprising of Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, and others held a prayer majlis at martyrs’ graveyard at Sopore for Gulam Mohammad Bulla and others,” he said.
