Domestic Violence: Woman set on fire in Kashmir’s Anantnag, police registers case

Srinagar: Police has registered a case after the family of a woman complained that their daughter was set on fire by her in-laws in south Kashmir’s Anantnag distrct on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said Abdul Rashid Ganaie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie resident of Deva Colony Janglat Mandi approached Police Post Sherbagh along with his daughter Tanveera in an injured condition and reported that she was set on fire by her in-laws at Hazratbal Anantnag.
“As per the medical report the woman has sustained 15% of burn injuries and is being treated in District Hospital Anantnag. Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up,” it said.
