DDC asks banks to improve credit flow, reach to poor

SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone on Monday stressed upon banks and other financial institutes to enhance their credit flow for tackling growing unemployment, besides reaching out to the poor.
He said this during chairing the meeting of District Consultative Committee/District Level Review Committee (DCC/DLRC) for reviewing the progress achieved under Annual Credit Plan 2015-16.
The meeting was attended by Anil Kumar Reshi (LDO RBI) and Junaid Hakim Matoo (NABARD) besides representatives of various financial institutions and sponsoring agencies operating in District Srinagar.
He stressed on enhancement in the overall credit flow of banks in the District.
He also advised the representatives of financial institutions and sponsoring agencies to come forward for talking the growing unemployment and reaching out with banking and financial services to the poorest of poor.
He emphasized that all banks operating in the District should organize financial literacy camps particularly in the rural and semi urban belts of District Srinagar to educate and aware masses about various banking products and government.
He impressed upon the Banks operating in District Srinagar to improve their CD Ratio.
