Toll in Banihal accident rises to 7

Jammu: With two more persons succumbing to their injuries, the death toll in an accident involving a Border Road Organisation truck in Ramban district of Jammu region has risen to seven.
Two more people succumbed to their injuries in the hospital late last night, a police official said on Sunday.
Five persons were killed and 10 others injured yesterday when a BRO truck skidded off the highway and fell into a deep gorge in Sherbibi area of Banihal tehsil of Ramban district. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the tragedy.
Conveying their condolences to the bereaved families, they prayed for peace to departed souls and wished for early recovery of those injured. Wondering how the victims were travelling in the BRO tipper, Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Gulam Ahmed Mir sought adequate ex-gratia relief to the families of those killed.
