6 killed in Banihal accident

Banihal: Six people died while nine others were injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway near Banihal on Saturday, police said.
An official told Kashmir Reader that the accident happened when a tipper carrying labourers met plunged into a gorge about 9 kms from Banihal.
“The vehicle rolled down into a 350-ft deep gorge,” he said, adding all the injured were shifted to a Banihal hospital for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmad son of Mohammad Bhat, Ghulam Rasool son of Fatah Wani, Aashiq Hussain son of Ghulam Nabi, Mohammad Yusuf son of Fatah Reshi, Mushtaq Ahmad son of Razaq Khandey, and Ghulam Nabi son of Fatah Mohd Wani.
