JKEDI’s awareness campaign begins

Srinagar: A month-long State-wide entrepreneurship awareness campaign of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) began Saturday.
On the inaugural day two awareness programmes one each in Kashmir and Jammu division were conducted. In Jammu the EAP was conducted by Institute’s District Office, Rajouri at Samote, Koteranka in which 170 people participated, while in Kashmir the programme was  conducted at ITI Budgam in which 76 people besides many district officials participated.
Most of the participants were educated unemployed youth and they were made aware about term loan scheme of National Minorities and Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC) being implemented by JKEDI. A detailed overview of other entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by JKEDI was provided to the participants with special discussion on NMDFC. District Officers from different allied departments, principals, Heads of Departments of educational institutes attended the programmes.
The institute offers different schemes including NMDFC’s term loan under which financial assistance is given to aspiring entrepreneurs at six percent per annum simple interest rate.
Another is Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), which forms a major component of government’s flagship Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Program for Youth (SKEWPY) in the State.
