Bandipora: Two militants have been killed in Kashmir’s Hajin area on Thursday after a day long gun battle.
However, the identity of the militants was yet to be ascertained, a police official said at the encounter site.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out between government forces and militants this morning in North Kashmir’s Hajin area in Bandipora district. The forces received a tip off about the presence of militants in Khos Mohalla and cordoned the entire area. The residents confirmed that few gun shots were heard in the area.
Few moments later, the forces blasted a residential house, where suspected militants have had taken a shelter. The sources said that the blasted house belongs to Sana Ullah Bhat of Khos Mohalla area of Hajin.
Amid this, Youth resorted to stone pelting in main market at Hajin, where a gunfight broke-out.
Hajin was known as a bastion of notorious militia Ikhwan and was also the hometown of its chief Mohammad Yusuf Parray alais Kuka Parray.
