Baramulla journalists elect new president

BARAMULLA: The Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA) on Saturday held its elections for the post of president at Dak Banglow here in which more than 52 journalists of the district participated.
BWJA under the banner of North Kashmir Journalist Association held the elections in which Gulzar Ahmed Zargar was elected as President.
Zargar is Baramulla based correspondent of Munsif TV/CNI.
The race for the post of the president was between three candidates Gulzar Ahmed Zargar Munsif TV/CNI, Sajad Hussain ETV Udru and Shahid Imram KBC News.
The election was conducted and observed by District Information Officer Nisar Ahmed Wani while as Kashmir Images north Kashmir Bureau Chief Reyaz Rashid was Returning Officer.
Among 53 members of BJWA from Baramulla, Pattan, Sopore, Rafiabad, Sheeri and Uri tehsils, 52 journalists exercise their right to vote.
It was also decided that fresh elections for parent association –North Kashmir Journalist Association would be held in near future after proper consultation with associations of Bandipora, Kupwara and BWJA.
