Srinagar: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, on Friday said the international community is prioritising trade over human values while accusing it of playing a “dubious” role by favouring the status-quo over the conflicts across the world.
“International community, in order to enhance its trade and business, has shunned human values and spirit of safeguarding the interests of humans. That is why these powers always act like firefighters who only come and try to manage and restrain conflicts,” Malik said while addressing the Friday congregation prayers at Gousia Masjid in Sarai Bala area of Srinagar city.
“Today American government says it is monitoring the Indo-Pak dialogue process and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. This stand is dubious and not intended towards resolving the conflicts and issues but to restrain or manage them. Managing conflict means keeping bloodshed going on at a bearable pace. Restraining the conflict means keeping the pot boiling and the life of the people living in these conflict zones miserable.”
Malik said, “How can one term these policies as humanitarian and ideal. Instead of playing such gimmicks, the international community, particularly the USA, should play an active role and persuade both India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir conflict, which is the root cause of tension between the two countries.”
Malik said the people of Jammu and Kashmir “are fighting a war of their future and welfare”. “Our struggle for freedom is actually based on truth and justice. If India, Pakistan and the world want to promote peace, stability, prosperity, tolerance and brotherhood in this region, they must accept the owner status of Kashmiris, include them in negotiations as the prime party to the dispute and solve the issue in accordance with their wishes and aspirations.”
JKLF Chief also paid homage to the renowned Islamic personality, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) while appealing for religious and sectarian tolerance among Muslims.”Promoting mutual brotherhood is the only solution to our miseries.”
