Baramulla: Shutdown called over delay in PHC

Baramulla: The Joint Coordination Committee of Traders, Transporters and Beoapar Mandal have called for a complete shutdown on Thursday in this north Kashmir district against delay in establishment of Primary Health Centre and Mother And Child Care Hospital .
Chairman of the Joint Coordination Committee Qazi Ishfaq Ahmad who is also president of the Beopar Mandal told Kashmir Reader that despite repeated assurances by the Department of Health Services, ministers and political leaders there had been no headway in the establishment of Primary Health Centre and Mother And Child Care Hospital at the site of the old District Hospital Baramulla .
“We are not against the shifting of District Hospital to Kantabagh but we want that the old building should be utilized for establishmnet of new health facilities for the benefit of people,” he said.
The District Hospital was shifted last year to Kantabagh area and people along with traders are demanding establishment of new facilities at its site .
