AIP vehicle stoned in south Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A vehicle of Awami Ithihaad Party was stoned during election campaigning in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Quoting eyewitnesses, a local news agency CNS reported that the supporters of AIP were shouting slogans from a public address system when their vehicle was attacked with stones near Bugam area of Kulgam town.
“Our vehicle was damaged as the people pelted stones indiscriminately on our vehicle. They smashed the windowpanes and damaged the public address system,” an unnamed AIP worker told CNS.
The AIP candidate for South Kashmir Parliament seat Tanvir Hussain Khan while confirming the incident siad that he was not part of that rally. “Some miscreants pelted stones on our vehicle near Bugam,” he said. AIP President Engineer Rashid alleged that the attack was carried out by CPI(M) supporters.
