Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front( JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik who has gone into hiding has said he will lead a protest march to Lal Chowk on Sunday to mark the death anniversary of Mohammad Afzal Guru “despite a police crackdown” on the pro-independence group .
Paying tributes to Guru, Malik said his sacrifices and persecution at the hands of “modern day Hitlers has become an inalienable part of our resistance history.”
“ The same tyranny and repression was faced by Maqbool Bhat and his family 30 years ago at the hands of the same tyrants,” Malik said in a statement.
Malik said Indian state by hanging Guru and burying him at Tihar jail had exhibited its “hatred of Kashmiris.”
Malik said despite “police crackdown on JKLF leaders and activists across the Valley, JKLF will march towards Lal Chowk on February 9 as per already- announced programme.”
