Srinagar: A group of people Friday locked the Community Health Centre in Kupwara district to protest non-availability of doctors and poor healthcare services, reports said.
The protestors demanded availability of sufficient staff at the hospital and necessary medical services including ambulatory services.
“Only paramedical staff was present in the hospital since Thursday while doctors were not available. Even the staff refused to provide ambulance services to people,” the protestors said.
Meanwhile, BMO Kupwara Dr Ghulam Nabi Lone dismissed allegations of non-availability of staff or denial of services to patients. “Staff always remains available and they try their best to treat patients. There are no problem as regards ambulance services either,” he said.
